Limoncello Spritz

A sip of sunshine, this is my favourite Summer cocktail. Light and refreshing, this is a grown up version of an ice-y cold fanta lemon on holiday, there really is nothing better. Smooth and slightly sweet - t's so simple to make! Originally hailing from Italy, I had this cocktail in Uzès, South of France in a tiny Italian pizzeria and I'll never forget that first sip!

Total time to make : 5 minutes

Servings : 1

Ingredients

60ml Limoncello

90ml Prosecco

30ml soda water/sparkling water

Ice* this is essential, you want this drink to be ice-y cold when served. I love using these large ice-cube moulds

To serve: lemon slices, thyme (lemon thyme if you can find it!). Mint and basil work well too

I find a 2:3:1 ratio is my favourite for Limoncello spritz. Can easily be made in a large pitcher or jug for occasions.

Method

  1. This cocktail can be mixed straight in the serving glass or pitcher. I love a large, thin stemmed wine glass. Fill the glass with ice first.

  2. Pour in the limoncello, Prosecco and soda water. Stir to mix.

  3. Garnish with fresh lemon slices and any herbs, thyme is my favourite here.

  4. Enjoy! Sip responsibly.
