Cinnamon and vanilla whipped butter

Banana bread, pancakes, toast, hot cross buns - anything! Cinnamon and vanilla lightly spice this butter which we whip until light and fluffy, then mix with icing sugar for a sweet touch. I like to use vanilla paste so you can see the flecks of vanilla throughout. A really easy, quick way to add a nice touch to dishes.

Total time to make : 5 minutes

Servings : Makes ~ 250g roll of butter

Ingredients

200g butter, room temperature

60g icing sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla paste

1/4 tsp flakey salt* (use none if using salted butter or adjust to taste)

Method

  1. Use a standing or electric whisk to whip the butter until it's light and fluffy, for about 2 minutes. Add in the icing sugar and whisk again until combined.

  2. Add in the cinnamon, salt (if using) and vanilla. Whisk again

  3. Spread into a small dish or container to keep, at room temperature so it's spreadable or store in the fridge for up to 5 days
