The perfect addition to any cheese board. The dark chocolate and salt balance out the sweetness of the fig for a sweet-salty-bitter-smooth hit all in one bite
Total time to make : 5 minutes
Servings : 8
Ingredients
8 figs
75g dark chocolate
Flaked sea salt, such as Maldon
Method
Prepare a baking tray with some baking paper
Melt 50g of the chocolate in a bowl over simmering water, remove from the heat and add in the other 25g, stirring until melted. This creates a good, thick and glossy consistency for dipping fruits
Slice the figs in half lengthways and dip each fig into the melted chocolate, using a spatula or spoon to 'push' the melted chocolate up the fig
Lay the dipped fig on the baking paper and repeat
Sprinkle the salt over the dipped figs just as the chocolate is starting to set. If you do this too soon onto the melted chocolate, the salt crystals will dissolve - so best to work in batches
