Rice Krispie Mummies

3 ingredients and no baking required.

Quick, easy and perfect for making with kids for Halloween.

Time to make : 20 minutes

Servings : 4

Ingredients

4 x Rice Krispie marshmallow squares

100g white chocolate (I used Milky Bar buttons) for dipping

100g extra white chocolate (for piping)

Edible eyes, or black/red writing icing

Piping bag or ziplock bag

Method

  1. Prepare a thin baking tray with baking paper. We'll use this to chill the chocolate dipped squares on

  2. Melt 3/4 of the white chocolate for dipping in a bowl over a boiling water. Once melted, remove from the heat and add in the last 1/4 of the white chocolate and stir until it's all smooth. This will help to cool and thicken the white chocolate for dipping

  3. Unwrap the Rice Krispie squares and dip them face-down into the white chocolate so that it coats the sides too, lay them (Rice Krispie side down) on the baking sheet. Whilst the chocolate is still wet, add on the edible eyes (if not using, see step 5). Repeat and once finished, pop in the fridge for 10 minutes to set whilst you melt the white chocolate for piping

  4. Melt 3/4 of the white chocolate for piping over a boiling water. Once melted, remove from the heat and add in the last 1/4 of the white chocolate and stir until it's all smooth. Once thickened and slightly cooled, pour chocolate into a piping bag or ziplock bag

  5. Remove the Rice Krispies from the fridge. If using writing gel for the eyes, dot these on now and return to the fridge for a few minutes to set.

  6. Snip a small corner off the ziplock or piping bag and pipe the chocolate diagonally in both directions and then across horizontally to look like a wrapped mummy

  7. Return to the fridge to set for 5 minutes
