Event Details:

In this online event, we’ll be baking a classic blackberry and apple crumble with a fresh twist of lemon. It’s everything you want from a crumble with juicy, bubbling fruit under a golden, oaty topping, brightened with citrus for a lighter, summery feel.

This crumble is wonderfully flexible and you can use fresh or frozen berries, swap in different fruits depending on the season, double of half the ingredients and bake it in one big dish or in individual ramekins. It keeps well in the fridge, reheats beautifully and can even be made ahead and baked from frozen, making it just as practical for a weekday pudding as it is for weekend entertaining.

During the event, I’ll show you how to prep and layer the fruit so it doesn’t turn watery, how to create an easy and quick crumble topping (without rubbing the butter into flour) that bakes golden and crisp and how to adapt the recipe with different fruit, nuts or spices. You’ll also learn tips for storing, freezing and reheating, so you’ll always have a homemade dessert ready to go.

Packed with tips and tricks that’ll take you beyond this one recipe, you’ll cook along with me in real time from your own kitchen, with access to an interactive chat box to ask questions throughout the event. This is beginner-friendly and suitable for all levels, we’ll move at a very chilled pace. You don’t need to turn your video on and you'll only ever hear me talking throughout the event, so it’s a safe space to get creative, have some fun and learn something new.
