Event Details: In this online event we'll be creating my very favourite bake, banana bread alongside a salted tahini and honey butter that goes perfectly with a warm, freshly baked slice.
A sweet, nutty and caramelised flavour from the natural richness of ripe bananas with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Banana bread has a soft sponge with a dense, hearty crumb delivering that nostalgic, home-baked goodness with just the right balance of sweetness and moisture. Whether you're baking it for a slow weekend breakfast, a quick snack or to share with loved ones, this is my absolute favourite recipe that is endlessly versatile. Add nuts, chocolate chips, both - or keep it classic. However you slice it, banana bread is a crowd pleaser every single time.
I'll show you how to create the perfect base banana bread batter covering all of the fundamentals of baking. I'll talk you through what and when to add any additions to personalise your bake (from nuts to chocolate chips) and how to top it with an aesthetic sliced banana so that it looks as good as it tastes. Learn how to avoid common baking problems like an over-mixed batter, a sinking loaf, being over-baked on the outside and under-baked in the middle. And I'll show you how to slice, store and freeze your loaf so that it lasts for weeks without compromising on texture or taste.
Packed with tips and tricks that will extend far beyond this event, cookalong with me in real time from your own kitchen with an interactive chat box where you can ask any questions throughout the event. This is very beginner friendly whether you're new or experienced in the kitchen with no need for any fancy equipment, we'll move at a very chilled pace. You don't need to turn your video on and everyone who joins will be muted, so it's a safe space to get creative, have some fun and learn something new.
